Development has wiped out many of these natural nesting sites, leading to the dramatic decline of the bluebird population. But you can help by setting up a wondering nesting box for these beautiful song birds.

It's the perfect size for the bluebird family to set up their home address with room to grow. Mount the house on a T-Post using the T-Post Mount adapter (not included), mount it on a Tri-Tel or Quad-Tel pole using the optional BBV adapter (not included), or mount it directly to a wood fence post or tree. This Bluebird House is produced at Scenic River Industries, a Shelter Workshop located in Missouri that provides meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Tips for Setting Up:
• 1. Open country with scattered trees and low or sparse ground cover is ideal for setup
• 2. Suitable habitat should include a fence line, wires, tree branches, or other sites where bluebirds can perch to search for food
• 3. Open pastureland, parks away from human traffic, and mowed areas (e.g. cemeteries and golf courses) are ideal locations
• 4. Mount nestboxes at least 50–200' away from brushy and heavily wooded areas where Wren nest since wrens may destroy bluebird eggs
• 5. Bluebirds begin nesting in late March or early April. In southern states, where bluebirds reside year round, nesting may occur even earlier
